Plot

Miranda Richardson, Uri Geller, Gail Porter and Emma Milne join forces with the RSPCA to become inspectors for the day. This documentary follows their experiences.

They gave up their own time to experience a day in the life of an RSPCA inspector and saw for themselves the frustrations inspectors often face when not being able to act quickly. Award-winning director Giles Foster (with episodes of Foyle's War and Talking Heads to his credit) shot the documentary in a fly-on-the-wall style, resulting in a shocking and insightful programme.

500,000 copies of a this 30-minute documentary on DVD were delivered inside the Daily Mail on Saturday, 4 December 2004.

Its purpose was to urge the public to support the Animal Welfare Bill, and lobby their MP's. The bill was to introduce a new law that can force pet owners or keepers to look after their animals properly, meaning that the RSPCA can act immediately at the first signs of animal suffering or neglect. As at 2006, the bill is still progressing through parliament.
