Plenty
- BBC Radio 4 -
Saturday 30th September 2006 at 2:30pm
- 90 minute drama
from the play written by David Hare
Miranda Richardson stars in
David Hare's Plenty, directed for radio by John
Dove, currently at the Globe Theatre.
In counter-pointing the experiences of an
Englishwoman helping the French Resistance during
the Second World War with her life in the
following 20 years, Hare offers a unique view of
post-war history, as well as making a powerful
statement about changing values and the collapse
of ideals embodied in a single life.
Plenty was originally staged at the National
Theatre in 1978 and was followed by other
successful productions across the world. It was
also made into a film, starring Meryl Streep as
Susan.
